About South Miami Children's Clinic

fun games at SMCCThe South Miami Children's Clinic was developed to provide high quality medical care to uninsured/underinsured children living in South Miami. We believe that improving access to healthcare and health education will help these children to build healthier minds and bodies.

The doors of the clinic were officially opened March 22, 2007. The generous financial contributions of Jim and Susan Carr, the Lennar Foundation and United Healthcare, helped to make the clinic a reality. The support of South Miami Hospital and Baptist Health South Florida has also been paramount to the success of the clinic.

As we move forward, our hope is to create a permanent medical home for all qualified children living in the area and to help them reach their full potential. We are now accepting limited insurances to achieve that goal. This hybrid model of healthcare allows us to see both uninsured and insured patients, and to maintain continuity of care.

For in the words of Winston Churchill, "We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give."
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
